Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will I have to stop eating everything I love?

No. My focus is to educate and empower you with guidance on quality and quantity.  Restriction leads to a sense of deprivation and eventually to bingeing.  I guide my clients toward balance and joy with food.

2. How long will we work together?

Frequency and length of treatment vary depending on the individual needs of the client.  Most people benefit from visiting twice a month for 2-3 months and evaluating from there. I expect to see progress toward their goals and improvement at this point.

3. What is your training?

I completed a Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University (now American College of Healthcare Sciences) in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Francisco State University in 1999.

4.Do you accept insurance?

Most insurances do not cover my services.

5. Do you advocate any particular diet like Paleo, Vegetarian or Keto?

I do not advocate any one dietary program.  While there may be positive aspects to many of these diets, I do not believe any are perfect for every person.  I collaboratively support people in developing the best diet and habits for their individual needs, tastes and lifestyles, in order to generate the most sustainable long term outcomes.

6. Do you recommend supplements?

I often guide clients with supplements, but primarily focus on optimizing dietary and lifestyle habits.  I do not represent any multi-level marketing products.

7. Do you do blood testing?

I typically rely on a thorough intake evaluation that includes a health history and diet journal to determine my recommendations. I also recommend annual testing that can be done with your doctor to regularly monitor your risk of chronic degenerative diseases that can be prevented with diet, such as diabetes and heart disease.
